Yep, I guess it was a TURB, wasn't it? He had separate instruments that he threaded through the scope, one to cut and suck up the tissue and the other one to cauterize. Am i the only one this has happened to? He gave me 4 strong doses of Cipro, and told me he's moving my next scope up to six months, with a cytology in three months, IF the grade hasn't progressed. *sigh*.. I really would prefer to be asleep the next time he slices and dices, if there's a next time... but truthfully, hospitals bother me more!!

My urologist found a shrub-like tumor in my bladder yesterday (it was just over 2 years since my initial TURB and diagnosis of TaG1). He cut most of it out to biopsy, then burned the area. Can I jusy say OUCH? Whatever local anesthetic he used for the cystoscopy didn't hold up to snipping and zapping!!!

I am a little surprised that I fell apart after I left - I went alone, and then drove to my Mom's, 5 minutes away. I scared the poor old lady to death when I got hysterical for about 5 minutes, then almost hyperventilated. I think it was watching the trauma to my body (OK, I shouldn't have watched on the screen.. ::))... and maybe I just really didn't expect to see this cancer again, that I wouldn't be one of those statistics.... Then she took me out for brunch, and all was OK again.

Anyway, I peed blood for about 12 hours, and now I just have to wait a week for the biopsy, and hope that it is TaG1 again, as my doctor suspects it is.....

That's my story...for today!

Lauren
