Hi everyone

Just before the path results arrive would you mind giving your opinion about these - to my mind - contradictory comments we've heard from doctors:

- My father is likely to be put on BCG for three months.
- My father is likely to have Stage 2, PT2 cancer.

Don't ask me how we've received this information (it's quite a long story)... In any case the official results come tomorrow or the day after and these comments have me trembling. Unfortunately we might be on the wrong category of this great forum...

Love,

Gabriel

My father is a male, 65, nonsmoker. Hematuria 01/08 TURB: T1 G3 widespread bladder+prostatic urethra; 3-month BCG.
Clean until 02/11: small TURB with no biopsy; 06/11 tumour detected TURB 08/11: awaiting biopsy, prostatic adenoma removed. Biopsies show both were benign. (...)

Gabriel,

I am glad your dad is home....Please be sure he keeps an eye on the blood in the urine. It is possible that it will not heal on its own...I don't know how "Normal" it is to still be bleeding. ‹(•¿•)› Maybe a call to another uro-surgeon to ask?

My husband was put on a drug called "Urelle" when he left the hospital. It slowed the Contraction/cramping type feeling coming from the bladder which caused alot of pain. It turns the urine a blue/green color which at first is alarming especially if you weren't told beforehand. May be something to look into if your father is having this problem post TURB.

When are the Path reports due? Please keep us informed.

Hi

This is the latest:

My father's catheters were removed and he has been sent home.

He still has hematuria, but the doctor says "it's normal, stable" and "the blood test results are fine". My father thinks his urine doesn't look as pink as before.

He has also been told his treatment won't start until 10-15 days from now (and it's been already 7 days since the surgery).

We really hope all of this sounds okay to you.

Thanks for your feedback!

Is the doctor on vacation?...out of the country?...whats his excuse for letting your father bleed so profusely for 6 days?...not normal. I would certainly want some answers from someone. Pat

That sounds like quite a bit, but what does your father's doctor say?

Personally, I was told to drink a couple of liters a day after my surgery.

By the way, I was in the Canary Islands a few years ago. What a beautiful place.

Thanks for your reply.

He's drinking around 20 glasses of water a day? Does it make a difference how many to drink?

Does it help with the healing process at all?

Thanks again!
