Thanks for the replies. After making further research, it was clear that this new technique/detailed studies should be searched on the internet using the terms "hyperthermia for bladder cancer"

Results sound very promissing. I will certainly except this treatment when offered.

Hi Tim,

In addition to the page here at the WebCafe, I found the following link with a diagram. I hope the FDA here in the states pushes this treatment through quickly. The response rate is incredible!

Greetings,

I'm 43 years old, my cancer started in my right ureter. The cancer caused damage to my right kidney too - they were both removed a couple of years ago. Very soon afterwards Ta G2 tumors started to occur within the bladder. In two years I have already had 4 TURBs, (always followed by an immediate infusion of Myto) I have also had a series of 6 infusions of BCG. TA G2 tumors continue to recoccur at three month intervals, typically three at a time.

On Feb. 14 I will have a CT scan to check that all is well on the opposite side of my urinary tract. The following day, I have a consultation with Dr. Van Cleynenbreugel at the UZ Gasthuisberg Hospital in Leuven, Belgium where I am being treated.

It is already being proposed that I should subsequently begin a new Synergo treatment combined with Mitomycin. For those that do not already know, the Synergo treatment involves the heating of the inside of the bladder using microwaves, whilst the chemo wash is delivered into the bladder.

Synergo is pretty cutting edge, has anyone already gone through such treatment? Or have related information? I have only discovered the one article here on this site.

Thanks,
Tim
