Flamenco,

Some doctors use cytology more than others as they do have a percentage of faults positives. But others use them as a everyday thing. The search for a better cheaper test is underway by several companies. I would talk to my doctor about it and see it you can come to a decision together that works for both of you. Here is a link to information about cytology.

I am due to go for a poke and peep next week. Iwas dxd superficial blc Nov 2006, TUR Dec 2006, path report High grade, not invasive. Reading various posts from other members I note that urine analysis is usually carried out as well as cystoscopy to check for recurrences and progression. Since my TUR last year Ihave not had to give a urine sample, only 3 monthly cystoscopies. Had mitomycin post op, followed by weekly mitomycim for 6 weeks. Whilst I feel quite confident with my urologist, ought I to insist not just on cytoscope, but on some type of urine analysis to make sure things are not developing ? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
