A "bump in the road" -- problems near left Ureter, some papillary tumors...

Goodmorning David: Sorry to hear about your new "bump in the road"....seems our road is running somewhat in the same direction these days. I am still waiting on report from CT Scan I had last Sunday evening at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Left message for my oncologist yesterday but no return call. I will be thinking very positive thoughts for you over the holiday and wish you the very best on 11/30. As you already have areas of dysplasia, let's hope the ureter area is the same. My Oncologist says much the same as yours regarding BCG treatments and my reation - he stated, "I believe we need to find something else for you as BCG is negative to your quality of life". I have had Mitomycin twice (after each TURBT this year).

Please keep us posted - Take Care,
Sandra

Just went in yesterday (11/16/07)for what I expected to be a routine cysto to show "all clear" but was somewhat disappointed that the Uro found several new papillary tumors and some undetermined problems around the left ureter which he could not identify -- he wouldn't speculate but could be more dysplasia or even CIS (hopefully not the latter). Will have a TURBT (my 3rd in 9 months) on 11/30 and he said he may need to use stents in the ureter. He also plans to use Mytomycin-C instead of BCG this time because of the very severe reaction last time around. He again said that in his many years of practice he'd never observed as servere reaction as mine to BCG.
Oh well, here we go again. Still hoping there's no new CIS there...
