Hi Beth,

That's good news and good to hear: remission, may it last indefinitely!

Best wishes to you and your family,
Wendy

My Dad has finished chemo. has had his CT scan and PET scan his tumors are in clinical remission at this point no spread visible. Great news! He has been offered radiation and chemo. now to keep the cancer in remission. He has weighed his options and is going to forego the tx at this time and enjoy himself while he feels well. The cancer may return in anywhere from 3 months to 1 year and of course we don't know where that will be.
He is feeling well despite fatigue. He still has some bleeding in urine. Follow up tests show no cancer spread visible at this time that could have been possible cause for bleeding, but unlikely we were told. He also has some swelling in ankles that Dr. knows of. but nothing unmanageable. He will be having follow up tests every 3 months for a while and ongoing appt.s with his urologist as always. His blood is good and healthy and no other complications at this point. His Dr. urged him to apply for a clinical trial he is eligible for so that when the cancer returns he will be able to participate in that trial. Dr. has discussed possible chemo tx that may be used in future such as Taxol or in the Taxol family. Dad has already had (1st cancer) gemzar cisplat. and
(2nd and 3rd cancers) gemzar and carboplat. He got through all of it. If any of you don't know he has also had his bladder removed and most other male reproductive parts removed and has a neobladder that was done after initial diagnosis. He is 64.
