The idea of getting things in order really appeals to my sense of "order". I believe that knowledge is power and you can never be too prepared. I did all of that last year. It gives me peace of mind to know I have a "plan".
You are going to feel very tired some days. Don't try and push yourself. Just listen to some of your tunes and get good rest.
I am about ready to leave for chemo. We had more snow last night and the sky is really blue so it should be a pretty ride. We have more cows per capita in our town than any other town in CT. so that will give you an idea of our landscape.
Blessings...Jean

Hi Mike... Sorry you've hit a rough patch the past couple of days. Your approach to getting all those ducks in a row is not surprising. When I think of "Mike", the phrase "man with a plan" always comes to mind.

Hang in there and I hope things smooth out today.

Best wishes... Catherine

Carla,

Thanks. I remember your mention of how bad Jim had hiccups. Mine have not been bad at all so far.

As for cruising along....well maybe sorta. Yesterday was a bit of a down day. Really tired mainly. Today was supposed to be my first day of only taking nausea meds if needed. I didn't take any before bed and around 5:30am that was not feeling well. Liz got my Zofran and more water (I still shoot for a liter per night) and I needed Vicodin because my right kidney was not happy at all and my cath bag was looking more like Cabernet.

We had an appointment with a financial advisor today that I am postponing to end of next week. I know I have lots of time but I like to keep things organized so the appointment is to make sure we are doing all the proper preparations and legal things to simplify everything. Sounds gloomy but to me it is just thinking ahead and removing fear and uncertainty for Liz.

Thanks again!
Mike

Mike, sounds like you are cruising right along in typical "Mike fashion". Good show. One thing I will make mention of re hiccups. Jim had them for a week 24/7...not good. His PCP Rxd Thorazine and after one tablet poof, gone. Jim took 3 over the course of that day, just in case. Hoping they aren't an issue for you but just in case that can be a solution.

Keep kickin' BCs butt!

They are calling it in for me along with some EMLA cream to put on the skin over my port. Doesn't really hurt much when they do the stick but why not go for the no pain at all option?

I'm going to pick it up when I go back in on Thursday. Just a few on my tongue. Been brushing with soft brush and using non-alcohol mouthwash. Going to try chloraseptic cough drops for now. They are analgesic and antiseptic.

Thanks again,
Mike

They can call it right into your pharmacy. It's called Duke's solution and it works like a charm. My mouth has been very sore the last couple of days. We had a snow and ice storm overnight. So much for spring. The northwest corner of Connecticut always gets it worse but it will be all cleared out for tomorrow's chemo appt.
Blessings....Jean
