I am at a rehab center in my town for a bit to regain my strength. It's close to home, husband, kids and grands can visit. Ironically I am in a room with my best friend who is recovering for a few days after having a pacemaker. I will hate to see her leave.
Dr. Magnifico is his name and it fits him perfectly. He has been voted Dr. of the year for many years. He is the kindest, most caring Dr. I have ever met.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and concern.

Blessings....Jean

Hi Jean,
So sorry you are having such a rough time of it with the chemo, just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and hoping you get over this setback and back to the battle front as soon as possible. Your job now is to rest as much as possible ready for the next round. By the way,is your doctor really called Magnifico or is that just your nickname for him?
All the best,
Diane

It has been an unbekieveabke few days. Saturday I was admitted to the hospital with severe impacted stool and a hemeglobin of 5. I was one sick puppy. I am still here but doing much better and will go to Geer in Canasn for a few weeks for rehab.I had two units of blood and lots of fluid For such a small hospital Sharon Hospital is amazing. The staff and all the Dr's are so kind and caring. I have a room with the most beautiful view. My granddaughter came to visit this afternoon. As usual my family has been right on top of things. They are just amazing.
Dr. Magnifico wants me to get my strength back before we do the next round of chemo so I hope I recover quickly so I can get on with this.
Thanks so much for all your encouraging words.
Blessings.....Jean

Hello Jean ~ Pat actually reached out to me to tell me of your post. Haven't had much time to hang out here - actually in the midst of packing and moving. As awful as moving is - chemo is much, much worse. I had to do chemo twice and its horrible. I had carboplatin instead of cisplatin (carbo is easier on the kidneys). I read about the hydration and that is what I've heard repeatedly about cisplatin. I had horrible reactions to some of the steroid drugs they give for nausea and found Adivan to be of great help. I don't think there is an easy road through the chemo but there is an end. Then every day after you will feel better and stronger.

I can totally understand. I know and remember where you are now. But the treatments will be over soon. I wish I could say that I was brave but in fact I feel we do what we must. We have to play the crappy cards that we have been dealt. There is no choice ... there is only life.

I, like you, am so lucky to have a fantastic husband and family that have been there for me. I am sending my heartfelt thoughts out to you.

Just know that this too shall pass.

Hugs, Gracie

I am sorry for the effects of Chemo and I sure hope you get over them soon. Although you must find some joy in the way your family has rallied round to help share the load.

You are truly blessed with family and they will see you through
