Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and support.
My Son and his family were here for 4 days and it was a wonderful family time. Luckily I was tired but no nausea.
I finished my third round of chemo today. My hemoglobin was good. Platelets were a little low but all in all good numbers.
Now I have a week off so hopefully I can get this house ready for Christmas.

Jean, I kind of took the summer off and just came back to the site. So i'm a little late here. Over the last 20yrs i had a ton of chemo. I know what you are going through and I am sorry you have to go through it. But I believe your decision to have chemo was the right one. The things I have been blessed with over the last 20yrs can not even be counted. Births of grandchildren, weddings, etc. I can only hope you will be as blessed as i have been. It will make the fight worth it all!
Wishing you the best.

Yesterday I was able to have my Gemzar and Cisplatin because my platelets had gone way up with the week off but my hemoglobin is still very low so I have to have a blood transfusion today. Also was put on Magnesium. Hopefully the transfusion will give me some energy for a visit from my son and his family from Las Vegas this weekend.
I find the first couple of days after my chemo my stoma burns now and then. Guess it never forgets it was a piece of intestine. Guess it's just one "new normal" to get used to.

Very disappointed that I could not have my Gemzar yesterday because of low platelet count. So, this will be my week off and I will have Gemzar and Cisplatin on Monday. Dr. Magnifico thinks I am doing well. Says my liver is no longer inflamed which would indicate reduction of the tumors. I wish everyone could have a Dr. like him. I don't think I have ever met anyone more caring and kind in all my years.
I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving. I wish you all peace and courage as we travel our journey.
Blessings.....Jean

Jean... Thanks for the update and well wishes. I'm glad your nausea has eased up this week and hope you have good numbers when you go back. I know you will love seeing your son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren over Thanksgiving. Blessings to you as well...

Best wishes... Catherine

I have had two more rounds of chemo and if the numbers are good on Monday I get Gemzar and then a week off.
I have been very, very tired but the nausea has been much better this week. I looked on the internet for a diet to boost your bone marrow and the key foods are beets, cherries, peppers, spinach and soup made of chicken bones or marrow bones so that has pretty much been my diet. Fortunately, it's all stuff I like.
We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and I hope I feel well that day. On my week off my Son, his wife and two children are coming from Las Vegas for a couple days so I have a lot to look forward to.
I hope you are all doing well and winning your battles.
Blessings....Jean
