Good luck to your husband. How old is your husband? Mine is 66. He is a farmer and always a hard worker. He has been so weak lately with his cancer reappearing. We are hoping that the chemo will work to kill the cancer in the lympth nodes! Alanna

I hope your meeting went well with the surgeon yesterday. Yes this whole experience can be frustrating. I hope you can get your questions answered. I can understand about your husband just going along with the doctors. My husband wouldnt not be here today if I didnt keep pushing him to switch doctors and keep supporting him through this.
I would assume the surgery is necessary to save your husbands life. I wish my husband was given that option years ago. He had polyps for over 20 years and numerous cystocopies. His previous doc never sent him for any cat scans or any further treatment. Now we are dealing with 2 mets.
I would suggest a second opinion as well with a well known cancer hospital.
Best wishes, Rhea

Hi. I'm new here. Note pad. good idea. I can never remember everything the doctors tells me and I also forget to ask him stuff. I've had tumors removed twice now. The first was benign the second malignant(Carcinoma In situ. Today was my first BCG. I'll do 1 a week for 6 weeks 4 times a year for 2 years.
How old are you? Eleven years seems like a long time to be at war with this. I am sorry you are in pain. I find comfort knowing I'm not alone but at the same time I don't if that makes any sense.

Your notepad is so important!!! Patients (myself included) just do not hear everything that is said. Your role as caregiver, extra ears, and common sense holder is critical!! We will be keeping good thought for you both.

Hello All, I'm sorry I've been MIA for the last month or so. It's been a circus of the 3 ring kind. I won't go into details, but we are finally going to see the surgeon and set a date for my husband's surgery.

He had 3 malignant tumors removed in December from his bladder, with one tumor on the edge of the wall of the bladder where the urethra is.

He's been in terrible pain ever since. They finally agreed to give him an injection of lydocaine tomorrow as well. They had to take some blood tests to make sure there was no blood in his urine and there isn't.

I have my notepad with questions and I'll be taking notes as well. I dearly wish I would have gotten a hold of how serious this is a lot sooner.

Ny husband has had BC for 11 years and was able to keep it under control with cysto's and regular testing, but after this last surgery and all the pain he went through, he's finally convinced this surgery needs to be done. Poor, guy, he's so scared and worried.

What he wants me to do is just keep my mouth shut and let the "guys" do all the talking, but so far, I'm not hearing anything that has given me any kind of security that he's getting the best care. After tomorrow, I'll know a lot more, so I'll try and keep posting here.

Thanks for listening.
