How old is your father? My husbaND IS 67 and has always been a hard worker here on this farm. It is hard to believe that a person can get so fatigued from this disease. I so hope your father starts to feel better soon. My husband is on his second round of chemo and is not loosing his hair anywhere. His voice sounds weak. He walks our driveway everyday with our sweetgolden retriever-lab Angel and all of the barn cats and the rooster, Ned. It is really cute, like the pied piper ! My husband is going for treatment at Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh. I just had a friend last week ask me for the # for Hillman. Hope there will be a cure for this disease someday. Alanna

Alanna--I can understand the "trouble logging on" I have had the same problem.

To the point of your message--It sounds as if the metastasis is being held at bay. I pray that this is so. :)

Hello, I just read your post. My Father has been dealing with this since last October. He started chemo Gem & Cisplatin and that did not work, then they put him on a stronger chemo "Toxil" he just had his scans done this past Monday and met with the Oncologist and Surgeon today. The Toxil has not worked either, the tumor is still in the bladder and lymph nodes. A few more lymph nodes have been affected since Chemo. Unfortunately, he is not responding the the chemo treatments.

He is really down in the dumps, lost all his hair, brows, lashes, 35 lbs. All he wants to do is sleet and take pain meds.

The surgeon will not operate on him. They havent even done radition on him?? the Oncologist said they normally dont radiate?? Im confused and we will probably be taking him somewhere else. I am worried and just feel so bad for him. He is only 55 years old and has never been sick prior to this.

Any suggestions? The Surgeon said he will not operate on him if in the lymph, they said the surgery would not be worth it. I just dont know what to do at this point...

Oh, Alana. I am so sorry for you. As has been noted so many times, sometimes the role of the caregiver is harder than that of the patient. Stay strong and know that we are thinking of you.
