OH Leigh..i'm so sorry. Such a bummer. It really sounds like a hemangioblastoma which has the appearance of a blood mass but is almost always benign. When it causes symptoms it is operable. I suppose this is the best case scenario. Here's an article on it

I send you love and many positive thoughts.

Hi, Leigh!

This all sounds like such a bummer but you have already been through so much the last few years - I'll bet this is not mestastatic. If it is, it must be pretty rare because it's something I have never heard referenced or read about in regard to bladder cancer.

I am so sorry about the affect on your holiday with your family but hope it is just a bump in the road. You have always been so positive, Leigh - don't lose that great attitude now!

Take good care!
Sandy

2 cm Mass in Cerebellum was created by Leigh
Recently I have been having symptoms of vertigo and the side effects have only increased.

My symptoms have been feelings of nausea, headaches, tiredness, and balance and coordination problems.

I have visited my doctor on several occasions and physiotherapy was recommended, along with an appointment set up for 7-dec with the ear nose and throat doctor to sort out the vertigo issues.

I became more worried when my symptoms increased further and have been home from work this past week.

My doctor called my oncologist and her advice was to do a CT scan because the wait time was shorter than an MRI.

Last Friday I had the CT scan and the same afternoon my oncologist called to say that she could see no problem. She did however recommend a further MRI as this would show up finer issues.

On Tuesday evening this week I was surprised to receive a call from my oncologist to say that the radiologist also agreed with my oncologist but the second opinion radiologist said that he was not happy with an area in my Cerebellum. An MRI scan was set up yesterday (Wednesday) and this morning I received the results.

It is still unsure what it exactly is but a 2cm blood mass was found and here are the three options.

A bleed in the Cerebellum
A new primary tumour that is operable with follow up radiotherapy.
Bladder metastasis to the Cerebellum with follow up palliative care.

The first two options are my best chance and the latter does not bear thinking about.

One positive thing my Oncologist has said is that the mass shows no characteristics of a cancer but this of course could be shadowed by the blood. I know I should be more positive but at this moment it is bloody hard to do.

The next steps are to meet up with the neurologist and have a further MRI in two weeks to see if the mass has reduced in size or enlarged.

On Saturday my plans were to fly out to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands for a week with my family. My oncologist does not recommend flying although she will ask for the Neurologist to make that decision. So now I am waiting for an email to give the go ahead for the holiday. Failing that my plan is to cancel the Lanzarote trip and visit my family in England with the boat.
