You're right, I'm afraid! I found some info on Medscape showing an overall response rate of 82% but duration of response was 1.5 to 11.7 months with an overall 18 month survival rate. The problem there, I suspect, is that it included a mixture of locally advanced and metastatic patients so I'm not sure how much weight that carries. My husband's oncologist Doc, the enternal spring of optimism, stammered a bit, himself, when I asked him for the info. Thanks, bunches, for your well wishes.

I wish someone had the answer Kitty..since the cancer is so widespread the combination your husband is being given is better tolerated than MVAC but to find stats on these trials is difficult......we really don't have a second line of defense......
In a phase II trial at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center that included many patients with lymph node metastases, the ITP combination (ifosfamide, paclitaxel [Taxol], and platinum) yielded an impressive median survival of 18 months.

Now thats kind of generalized isn't it and i'm afraid thats about all i can find. Until they can look at that cancer under a microscope and determine what drugs will knock it out ???.......

my best to you both.....Pat

Thank you, Patricia for that link. While I see where they mention the phase II study on ITP, I was unable to ascertain the information I noted in my original post. What did I miss?

My husband has recently started ITP (Ifex, Taxol, Carboplatin) chemotherapy for metastatic (liver, bones, lungs) bladder cancer. I'm having trouble finding studies or publications on the response rate, time to progression and survival rates for this combination. Can anyone help?
