George,
I sometimes think people want to hear the bad news, and if it is good news its as if they are disaapointed. Depending on my mood sometimes when asked I would blurt it all out,, he is doing great, has his new friend THE BAG, and we are going on a trip to test it out. Ginger

Right?! That is the perfect "comeback" Rocky.

I must say that I find it annoying when coworkers know I left early for an appointment with my husband and the next day they say "Hey how did it go yesterday?" in front of whoever is standing there. I cringe every time. I have no problem saying "I really don't want to talk about it" but that has been misinturpreted as "It must be bad".

George I feel for you. I can't imagine being put under the spotlight when you need time for yourself to come to terms with whatever the next step may lead you.

However, I like Rocky's style....

Geo, Just keep telling them you are fine and then ask them how they are doing, they will get tired of bugging you. If they keep it up ask them if they have bounced any checks lately, are they late on their house or car payments ?
When they look at you shocked tell them your health is a private matter just like their finances are their private matter.
If nothing else the look on their face when you ask them will make you probaly make you laugh. Rocky

George,
About 5 years ago I had an experience, I recived some mail of my neighbors, I went over to give it to her, as I approached the door I saw a note on the door, it said " YES I HAVE BREAST CANCER, YOU CAN TALK ABOUT IT"
I gave the neighbor the mail, I didn't ask, but the following week I bought her 2 plants for her porch with a note.
The questions get old don't they. Answering them even gets older. You know they care,I personally gave the job over to my kids after awhile.they had a call list, we separated family and just friends. One took family, one took friends. it took a load off me for awhile...I think a e-mail friend list is a good idea...what do you think? Ginger
