Stage IV Bladder Cancer or not ?

11 years 3 months ago - 11 years 3 months ago #18619 by Leigh
Dear Forum,

On a recent update to this post I made a boo boo which read....

Dear Forum,

I have just returned from my oncologist appointment and was able to get an explanation for my understanding of the stages.

I am still confirmed as a stage 4 because I have no known mets. Even though my tumour invaded my bladder and prostate and 17 nodes this is known here as regional disease.

It should have read stage 5and I now understand the Umm reply from Wendy more clearly...

Hello Leigh,

Its great that your doctor says no metastasis. I agree about paying too much attention to statistics. Who says we are not in the survival percentage regardless of what that might be.

Hang in there. I try to take one day at a time with the attitude that I'm OK today and I'll deal with any negatives, if they happen, when they happen and not worry too much about something that hasn't happened yet.

Regards,

Peter Konomos
