almost starting to forget

Hi, Julieann --Thank you for sending prayers up! I'm feeling better
today but I get a little ache-y at the computer, so I haven't been
posting as much.

Everybody's journey is different, but good days, weeks and months
can really be GOOD, so please try to enjoy these with your mama.
I'm older -- and "waiting for a bomb to drop" reminds me of the way
so many of us thought through the cold war years.

I've recently, as you know, had some symptoms and some tough treatment
side effects, but my five good months were good and I hope my family
"started to forget",too. Recall that my diagnosis was stage 3 in 2/07
and I didn't have any non-bladder symptoms for 5 months after we found
my lung and liver mets in 11/07. I guess I'm trying to say (and getting
repititious) try not to feel bad when things are good.

Tomorrow is out 39th wedding anniversary. My how things have changed
since our 37th -- when we were on a second (or subsequent) honeymoon
in Europe. But we're celebrating -- with cake and ice cream with family
around the pool and in the kitchen if it rains.

Love to you and to all my forum-mates -- Susan

Hello Julie,

Good to hear from you and so glad to hear you are settling down with your thoughts over your mum.

I guess we all have phases we pass in this journey with bladder cancer as a patient or caregiver.

When we first hear about a cancer diagnosis we have that impending doom feeling that stays with us until we reach a kind of acceptance.

Julie I wish you more and more peace of mind so that you are able to sleep more and of course lots of quality time with your mum.

Thinking of you and your mum...

Leigh

Yes Julianne, this changes ones life drastically. I think of Gene and I one year ago, fancy free, living our daily life with minimal concerns, then bam,,, its so consuming isn't it!!! With your other life, children etc. you have so much to concentrate on as well, so I bet you have alot of preoccupation with it..I think mama is in a quite time,I don't think your going to have a sudden interuption thats
horrifying as you are expecting, so keep your chin up and enjoy mama,, take care Ginger

Hello all! I haven't posted much lately, but have been keeping up. Thoughts and prayers out to Susan, Julie, Karen, Lorrie, Holly and everyone else. Things here are quiet. In fact I find myself thinking about it less and less. That bothers me because I know it hasn't gone away. We just haven't had any change in a while (probably have but not in the way of symptoms) and it is easy to become sort of complacent. Of course I know it is there and that things could change drastically at any moment. I do know that I am not the same person I was a year ago. Things that didn't used to bother me, make me angry etc. I think the stress is there even when things are going well. I don't sleep well either. I guess that it is always somewhere in my mind even if it is subconsciously. Thanks for listening.....I think basically I rambled! ;)
