Dear Susan,

Just to let you know that I am thinking about you and hope that the cough and fever subside really quickly.

I hope that the ache on your right side is just muscle pain from your coughing and has nothing to do with the mets.

Sending you healthy wishes,
Leigh

Susan,

I am sorry you are not feeling well. You are definately in my thoughts. My husband who also suffers from High Blood Pressure was given Tussinex for his perpetual cough. I is a narcotic cough syrup, doesn't taste bad at all, and it works amazingly well. It even has a side effect of giving him some energy. It may also cause drowsiness. It is also a pain releiver as far as my husband is concerned, so I would suggest using it and then checking whether or not you need the pain meds too. As always check with your Dr. (which you would have to do anyway to get the prescription)

If you want to talk PM me and I would be happy to give you my home number.

With Love,
Karen

For about the past two weeks, I seem to have taken a turn for the worse. I have been having a cough and low grade fever. Over the weekend, I experienced an ache in my right side that I am guessing is from my liver. I am trying to get my local oncologist and the Dr. at M.D. Anderson to decide what should be done, such as moving my next appointment in Houston sooner or doing some tests over here and sending them over. I don't feel really awful, but as you know, I've been blessed with about five asymptomatic months since my mets were discovered, so I hate to "let go" of those days.

I have pain medicine I can take if I need to and expect to get a suggestion from my doctors about a cough medicine that won't defeat my high blood pressure medicine.

I napped more over the weekend and let my family know these developments.

Susan
