Hi Everyone,

This is my first post, but I will admit that I have lurked on the boards here and there since my Dad has been diagnosed with Stage IV bladder cancer with lung spread.
The reason I lurked was fear...so many things I read on here frightened me and good news seemed few and far between.

My 51 year old Dad was being treated for what his urologist thought was a bladder infection back in October. He had hemituria and immediately went to his Doctor for help...his Dr. suspected bladder cancer and performed a cystoscopy.....found nothing. The Dr. put my Dad on Flomax and Cipro for what he thought was an infection. Fast foward to December 28, 2007....my Dad couldn't take it anymore and went to the ER. He explained that the night sweats, fever, weakness was not subsiding and his urologist may have misdiagnosed him---he knew something was really wrong. He was then diagnosed with Stage IV Bladder Cancer and had 20 nodules spread all over both lungs. We went to Sloan Kettering here in NY, we went to Fox Chase in Philadelphia and Stonybrook University Hospital, every Dr. said the outlook was poor and that "survival was very unlikely." Two doctors told us that the nodules will never fully clear the lungs.

Just three months of chemo and the cancer is gone....no scar tissue, nothing. Just gone! The Doctor's can't explain it. I just want everyone to keep the hope and know that miracles do happen!!! God bless everybody and I wish you and your families the best. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Jamie
