Susan,
What good news, not so much about the chemo in May but the fact that you can wait and its not as aggressive as thought. Glad things are working out for you,
have a great day at the beach!!! Ginger

What a blessing that you will be able to wait until May for your chemo. I know you strongly wanted to be able to finish the school year. Have a great time in Galveston. I expect it is beautiful this time of year. Julie

Susan,

Wonderful news...I understand how tired you are...It is a lot of information to process, as well as emotionally and physically draining...

Enjoy the beach...I always feel closer to God when I am near the beach, or near the mountains...

I will have you in my prayers over the coming days...Enjoy your time with your husband...now is also a great time for a reconnection to your marriage vows. The love, and commitment that brought the two of you together so many years ago, will be the rock you depend on, and draw strength from in the coming months...No matter how strong a marriage is, times like these are unique opportunities for love to grow stronger and deeper. Susan enjoy ever moment of independence that you have now...

Your posts are full of strength and compassion for so many, I am in awe of you on so many levels...I offer up prayers for you and your family.

With Love,
Karen

Well, I'm exhausted right now but hopeful. Dr. Millikan says we can, indeed, defer
treatment until May because my tests indicate that my cancer is not the MOST
aggressive variety. Then, I should come back to Houston for chemotherapy that could, optimally, "reset the clock" and give me more time (maybe an extra year +)
Pat -- I am not sure when my appointment request for Dr. Radtke got switched to Dr.
Millikan, but it does seem appropriate. As I said, I'm very tired right now, so I'll
try to post more soon. Tomorrow, we're heading to Galveston for a day on the beach
-- My best to all -- Susan

Hi Susan...i had it in my head that you were seeing Dr. Radtke..did i imagine that? I know she specializes in rare cancers also. I'm sure they all communicate anyway. I'll be anxious to hear the plan.
You remind me of my cousin who is a professor in New Orleans who has polycystic kidney disease and needs a transplant and is putting it off until she can retire with medical benefits this spring. She's trudging along but i worry so much about her.
Do you have any sick days left? My husband taught for 49 yrs and must have had 600 days racked up. I'm looking for a loophole for you....
Pat
