Thank you ,
I was a smoker, however my diet over the last 7 years has been horrible. The stress in my life was through the roof too. I believe that had a big part in having cancer. People always said cancer wont survive in an alkaline state of body. Wouldnt you know I was creating an acidic state. Lots of carbs and sugars, alchohol too. Trying to drown out my sorrows. Looks like a keto diet can help. I'm just starting to learn about that now.
Sincerely,

Hi there,

I was just diagnosed with high grade stage one bladder cancer with CIS and I just had my second TURBT on February 21st and before I could leave the hospital I had to be able to go to the bathroom, which I could not do so, so I had to go home with a cather and a few days later I went back to my urologist and they took out the cather and I was able to go to the bathroom finally on my own. However it hurt when I was start going and also when I felt like I had to go in seconds it got to the point I REALLY had to go and I still have that urgency now as of March 24th. I also developed UTI as well after my second TURBT.

The good news is it will past most of the time but if not make sure you keep your urologist informed with any problems as they need to know and they are there for you.

Welcome to the forum of shared experiences.

Yours is the common experience - give it a couple of weeks to settle down, which it most likely will do.

If it gets worse, or if it becomes bothersome, there is a urinary pain relief med available.

ALWAYS keep your care team informed about problems or bothersome issues. BC bring a a whole new set of experiences and procedure side effects. Make sure your team has described what to expect, and when and who to call when things happen between appointments.

Drinking a bit more water can help dilute the urine, IF you are not on restricted liquids.

Best
Jack

I think we underestimate the trauma our poor bodies go through with these Turbs. Everyone is different with healing and surgeons are also different. Some more gentle than others I presume. I am post- op one month and am just starting to feel " normal" again. Not that I was in pain this entire time, but it just felt different. End of urination was uncomfortable for 3 1/2 weeks for me, while others report they felt great a few days after turbt. I think a lot depends on what exactly the surgeon has to do in there as well as his "style" should I say? Let's be honest, some surgeons are great with the knife, others not so much. We all heal differently also. I would contact your doctor and run this by him/her. This is what they do, and get paid very well to do it. I am new to bladder cancer (diagnosed Jan of this year, 47 y/o female, non smoker.) Go figure, doesn't exactly fit the bladder cancer profile but I am learning to accept this will be part of my Iife now for the rest of my life. Scopes and scans. We just have to stay on top of it now. Just keep in mind that our bodies WILL heal, given the time it needs. Good luck to you!!

A week after having catheter removed my urethra continues to sting when I pee.
Anyone have any expirience with this?
Will it always sting now?
