Joe,

Welcome but we are sorry for the reasons being here. While I did not have to have a cystectomy, I have had a few UTIs. Cipro is usually the choice on UTIs but, I had a really nasty one 2 years ago (I seem to stir them up on my annual scopes) It took something else to knock it out. You definetly don't want leave this unchecked with a temperature and weakness. Probably need a culture which can take a few days.

The emptying issue I can't help with but, there are some that have the neo and I trust they will see this and respond.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Joe,

So sorry you are having problems, I am sure somebody with some good advise will pop in here and offer some knowledge that I can not..

Unfortunately I understand that the neo bladder does have infection problems.

I would search out a urologist that has experience with neo bladders if you can not get to your normal doctor. Maybe find a major cancer treatment facility that has a top urology department.

Good luck to you.

Hello I'm Joe (jrluvridin)
I am a new member and I am reaching out to patients who have a neobladdder. It's two years since my RS with neo and I have had chronic UTI's but have had a recent increase in the frequency. Pretty sick this time with fever, chills, weak etc. I was seen in express care on 2/23/17 and currently on Cipro. I am away from home and will not return until 4/1. I was checked about Urologists 4 months ago for complete emptying and it was good. I am very careful and spend extra time to empty. There appears to be a conflict of how often if at all to Cath. Has anyone out there experiencing these issues with a neo.
Thanks Joe
