Jeffrey,

Sorry you have what most have or had as bladder cancer but, welcome. Sounds like you have a URO that may not see a lot of bladder cancer. Most TURBs are done under anesthesia thu I surprised with it being done that way plus, I hope a pathologist looked at the sample. So many doctors see almost all prostatic problem. Thus, most of us encourage a second opinion anyway for piece of mind and another set of eyes. What state do you live in or, if Europe we have posters to where someone can recommend a good teaching hospital or one that has a department that does a lot of bladder cancer (100+ cases a year). This is very treatable but sneaky disease!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

If it's not an infection, the scope has to past the prostate, I'm thinking if he wasn't careful maybe he nicked it to cause the pain you are having. Like with any bruises it can cause burning when something acidity touches it and in the bladder urine. I'm no doctor so I would ask them .

With any bruise it takes time to heal. I had my cystoscope last week I keep getting sharp pains in my bladder.

Yes he has been a urologist for 2 years.

This was my first time doing this day surgery in a new city. They didnt scrub the nurses and she even took part in the biopsy with just putting gloves on and in street clothes?? Much different than the last city I spent 3 years in getting these done. It was much more sterile there.

So you think they did damage to my prostate? If so should I somehow get a doctor to look to see the damages?

I did contact them. They put me now on two different antibiotics. The last run of drugs finished today and that is why I began asking more questions.

This was a new doctor, possibly he didn't have the experience your other doctor had. When passing the prostrate it caused some injury that needs to heal. Have you called the doctor? I would start to look for another doctor for your next cystoscope.

Hope you feel better soon.

Anne

I went for a cysto 4 weeks ago. During cysto doctor took a biopsy and burnt little growth that turned out non cancerous. Since then I have had a burning sensation at the very end of urination. I took now two rounds of antibiotics. Thinking it was infection. One night after peering I had a pain in my prostate I think. It hurt. This new doctor pulled out of my bladder extremely faith the scope. I had never seen this before. I've had three years no cancer since first turbt and this is the first complication. I'm 36. What should I do?
