The skill of your surgeon is very important. How many and what types does he do yearly! Meaning 25+ a year or more is probably a good start. Even that amount still may be suspect as I have never investingated what is a good number.

I have not had to decide as I am one of the lucky ones. Here is a good source on types of diversions: my.clevelandclinic.org/services/urinary_reconstruction_and_diversion/hic_urinary_reconstruction_and_diversion.aspx

My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer in March and has gone through chemo. We are almost finished and, unless God chooses to heal him, will have surgery. We have to decide which way to go. Indiana pouch hooked up to operate as normal but might have leaking or Indiana pouch and stoma and no leaking. We have no idea about pros and cons and side effects. Any information would be helpful.

Also has anyone out there used Pawpaw capsules for bladder cancer?
