I do feel very fortunate with the results of the procedure. When I look around here at MD Anderson,I can assure you that the waking of the bowels is a minor inconvenience for me and I thank God for the blessings I have been given. Yesterday I was on a full liquid diet and today they put me on a full diet. I won't be having any fried chicken though. I am taking it slowly to get my system used to the food again after 4 weeks of nothing. I probably don't have to tell any of you about lots of gas pains. It does seem though that I am on the way to getting out of here and moving on.
Thank you all for the support.
Ed

Funny how things change as you visit the urologist.

Passing gas is Not acceptable in polite company!

Not passing gas after bladder surgery...... gives you an "All expenses stay for another day in the charming Hospital Hotel!"

But I am so pleased to say, "CONGRATULATIONS on being cancer free!"

ps... here is a Get out of Jail Free card... see if they'll take it and let you out.

Cancer as past history. That is really good news.

I'm 70, retired heat/air contractor. After 4 months of keymo ileal conduit (IC) surgery removed bladder & prostate May 2010
