early 60\'s diagnosed w/stage 4 bladder cancer

Hi there form Pa! My husband is 67 and was diagnosed with stage4 cancer of the lympth nodes and bladder in 2009. He had his bladder out in 2009 and starts chemo this Friday since unfortunately it is back in his lympth nodes. I would love to communicate with anyone who is in this same stage. The plan is chemo and possibly radiation for him. We are thinking positive and he is doing so well now. He goes out for short walks 3 or 4 times a day and does some arm exercises in the morning. By evening he is exhausted, it is hard to believe that 2 years ago he was farming and working a full-time job ,too.

I wish you and Jim good health. I love your fighting spirits. You're both quite an inspiration.

Katie, my husband was diagnosed with T4aN2M0 last Aug 12th and he is doing very well. I know often people when they are first diagnosed they are devastated...I surely was when I realized my husband had this disease. But, we are doing well and moving onward. Jim just had his just shy of 9 mo CT and he got an all clear. So, we look at this as his LIVING with BC not DYING with BC. Hope that helps some. If you click on the little PH under my name you will be able to send private email to me but I do find that getting out there on the forum is very helpful unless there is some message you want to send to a person privately.

Hi Cynthia -

Thank you for all of your help. I'm such a novice with forums. I did not realize that I posted incorrectly or in the wrong location.

I spoke with his daughter and she is very glad that we're doing this as she is eager for him to speak with other survivors.

You raise a great point regarding stage 2 and 3 survivors.

Any other advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for everything, Cynthia.

Your support is boundless and tremendously appreciated.

Katie

I have moved this post as this forum is like a library in order for others to be able to search back post there are over 35,000 of them here.

We have onsite email that allows you to exchange email address's privately if you wish. We do caution you that people should be very careful doing so for personal security reasons.

I do not know how many active users we have right now that are stage 4 but we do have many stage 3 and stage 2 people who would be willing to talk to him. You might wish to post his questions here and be his online advocate. Let him know that we are here for him.

Thanks so much for your time. I'm hoping that you can help. My friend's father was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer. There is spreading to his lymph nodes and kidney. He's about to undergo treatment and would love to speak with a survivor via email. As you can well imagine, this is a very vulnerable and scary time.

If you would please be so kind as to email me, I would love to put you in touch with his daughter, so we can get the support going.

many thanks for taking the time to read my post and provide support.

Best Wishes,
Katie
