A caveat about cranberry juice...read the label!!! "Cranberry juice cocktail" ISN'T cranberry juice!! You will be surprised. Real cranberry juice (usually found in the health food or organic aisle) is much more expensive and very puckery!! Dilutes well with sparkling water.

Red.. coming to this discussion late, but I did have an infection early on with my RC a few antibiotics and it was gone. One thing I do is drink lots and lots of Cranberry juice, you can buy diet for lower calorie or dilute the regular, but I was told this helps with infection and also with the amount of mucous.

Hope that helps

wonder if your doctor can prescribe 0.5mg. Ativan for that anxiety with the drug? I'd mention it to him.

I guess its generic. The pharmacist told me to take it with food. It also seems to cause the jitters with me, so I have to take it early. I was up until 3 last night.

Farred ..are you on the generic nitrofurantoin or Macrobid?
Good idea to take it with food..keeps the intestional tract from overreacting!
Glad you're a big boy now!!

Yes, they confirmed I had an infection, which I knew. With the lab results they were able to fine tune the treatment. I'm on Nitrofurantion for a week. I've been off milk for a week and everything is working much better, no problem at all--urination is working better than ever. The milk caused the backup, but perhaps the infection caused it to hurt so much. Don't know, but I'm not experimenting with milk for a while. I'm also off caffeine at your suggestions. I'll re-introduce that later.

I feel like a two year old--I'm not afraid to go pee pee anymore. Thanks or all the help!
