you should make sure you have pads as continenece when you are asleep is probably not going to be as good as when you are awake and you want to be able to sleep on the plane with confidence. make sure you are able to get the supplies you need in the country you are going to or send ahead.Even if you aren't cathing , take some catheters with you and any appropriate documentation from your doctor to explain any meds or apparatus to customes. that kind of thing....

How does travel work into this? What considerations should I be thinking about?

Thanks for your reply. Obviously I hope the BCG ends it all but, I do like to think ahead because sometimes you don't have enough time or info. Your response was invalauble!

interestingly for me, you and i share the same histology; TaG3 Cis. Im a bit down the line from you having had a cystectomy. I failed BCG a few times and thought it was the best chance of a cure. Ive never had to catheterise regularly with the neobladder. Ive done it a few times just to prove that I could in an emergency, but if the new plumbing works properly then this really shouldn't be necessary. Of course there's no guarantee and some people do end up cathing regularly. I have 100% daytime continence and I wear a pad at night as my continence is more like 80%. Ive just got used to it now. My life feels pretty normal these days and I have few complaints. You say you like to think ahead. I reckon that's a smart move and also a great mindset if you do end up with a neo as thinking ahead will help you manage it with things like travel.

All the best

I am still under BCG treatment but, have learned to look ahead should I need to be ready for any changes. Such as RC. The question I have on the neo bladder is: assuming you have gained continence 90-100% of the time say at 6-12 months, do you still have to catherize often? Once a day? I presume some of the answer will be on how well one can expell the urine.

Thanks in advance. This forum is awesome and you guys are extremely valuable to all!
