In regard to your remark about being too old to learn how to control your speech....You are NOT too old to change. I have had that same problem for years...my thoughts would just jump right out there, and most especially with family and it does lead to regrets. I am 56 and over the last six months, I have learn to think more about my words before tossing them out at other people. Most often it is when I am very frustrated and I lose my patience and out come the words. But after having to do battle with cancer, it has somehow helped me to
slow down and be more aware of how my words might affect others, and even myself. I will pray that Bob will soon be well enough to be released from the hospital and that things will improve for all of you in every way. Take care, Melodie

I feel for you, it is a really tough situation. I noticed you mentioned that you are mad at the Canadian Cancer Society because there is little information, I am 100% behind you there, I could not find any help through them. There are local ostomy groups whereever you live and sometimes these are helpful depending on which surgery your husband had. Just look up online the united ostomy association of Canada, they have a magazine and you can find chapters in your area. I don't know where you live in Canada but some areas have larger support groups than others.

Lorrie, nothing you posted yesterday caused what is happening today. Just a little FYI.

Being outspoken is a gift and a curse. I have the same blessing/curse. It has gotten me into trouble, but at the same time I have accomplished more in my life than most people I know...

I never accept a "NO" from anyone who does not have also have the authority say "YES".

If we could control this disease by the things we said, then my husband would be cured right now...

Just try to keep your cool until you find out whats going on. Some test take a few days for the results, some tests just hours, so hang in there.

This is my first post but I have been reading since I found this site.

My heart goes out to all who have bc and for those who care for them.

My husband is the one with b/c and I'm the caregiver. I feel very unqualified to do this job but I pray to do the best and be able to ask for help as we go along.

Right we are home and he will start his pre-op chemo this week. When that is finished we will go back to Rochester,Mn for his surgery. We are have Dr Bludt who we are told is one of the best so we give thanks for that.

I just want to thank everyone for all the great information and I too will feel free to post when I want to scream or run which has already happened.

I will print out the post for helping the order it's much appreciated. Hopefully I will be able to post and help someone else.
