God Bless all you beautiful friends !

I am back from Mayo's...and I couldn't be happier!!
My bone tumor is benign :) It is a painful benign but BENIGN.The enlarged lymphnode is not any bigger so it is believed to also be BENIGN :) I love that word:) lol
Urology said all is well - they did the urogram and labs etc. I will have to keep on 3 month checks like this for atleast 4 years because they said my cancer warrants the heavy surveillance. My B12 was low so we are going to try the B12 patches. You wear it for 24 hours once a week. I will let all know how it goes.
Oncology was very positive also. They will be asking for bone scan every six months and on the other check ups just for still films on the tumor. My liver and kidney functions were even better than they hoped for so I was very relieved. They think it is a good idea to keep my port in for a few years so it will be staying.
I did find out some info about my situation from Mayo's....Dr told me I am apx the 100th successful female neobladder. ANd I am among the 1st successful female neobladders with the DaVinci.
I asked about my "mutt puppy" hair...I was told that cisplatin usually takes the hair ( mine thinned but never completely fell out). When it grows back - it is usually a bit curly and darker - with some grey. It should get normal over several months. The chemo brain prob - last quite a bit longer too.
It feels so good to be this happy again! Thank you for praying and caring so much - You are all in my prayers too! MWAH, Holly
ps. Joe and Pat - have you found my missing sponge yet? LMAO

I agree that Drs should actually prepare patients for the recovery period. My husband(56) had RC on Sept. 20 after 2 courses of BCG and the 2nd tumor removal after the 1st course (6 wks) at 2+ wks post op he is extremely dismayed that his recovery is not as fast as HE thinks it should be. His prostate was also removed "for good measure" and he has just realized that his pain when sitting must be from that. (the after-effects of the prostate removal were never discussed) He also had approx. 20 lymph nodes removed (3 of which were cancerous). I was glad to find this forum and would appreciate any and all feedback. (I hope I did this post right) Thanks , Bobby

Heck Holly i have chemo brain and i never had chemo....why did i open the refridgerator?...why am i going into this room?..i think i was after something...I think its my lack of hormones....they took all my hormones away...bad surgeons! Other drugs can do that memory trick on you also...Ativan or Xanax...blood pressure drugs. I don't know why Joes sponge was in the refidgerator...probably the same reason my cream cheeze was in the cupboard? doh.......
I remember when my sons hair was growing back after chemo for testicular cancer..it came in like a babys hair..very fine and a little darker than he was previously. After my surgery at about the 3 month mark i started losing clumps of hair in the front...what was that?...I just read that isn't unusual from all the anesthesia. It did grow back eventually. I'd go for the permanent color Holly..that will cover the black.
Holly i wish you the best at Mayo..keep the faith and know we're all thinking about you. Pat
