Ginger here is a link from Bladder Web Cafe and on the right side you will see the Ileal conduit, Neobladder, Indiana Pouch it explains all of them in detail and some very good info there. I could tell you the difference between the two but without confusing you it would be much better to read this Ginger it explains the difference between all three with detailed information. Enjoy and GL to you and your husband-Joe

I'm ez going and the fact they took my appendix no biggie one less problem for me down the road to worry about. I do agree it is not right to say whether they took mine out or not so I stand corrected on this, it does not mean they took yours out. I did not find out they were taking my out till a few days b4 my surgery and I had no prob with it. Actually screw the appendix I wanted my prostrate which was perfectly fine but that goes with the nature of this cancer. I am thankful for everything after all I went thru , I am cancer free for now and I have my life and I am thankful for it everyday now. Hats off to whether you have your appendix or not lol having your life is the most important thing here- Joe :)

I'm starting my own 12-Step program for those of us who are living in denial about losing their appendix.

Appendectomy Anonymous.

The first symptom of those needing Appendectomy Anonymous is denial and a feeling of isolation. "Nobody took my appendix!" "No one will ever love me without my appendix."

Second symptom--Anger. "How dare that doctor take my appendix out!"

Symptom three--Bargaining. "Please, God, if I could only have my appendix back I'll be very good and dedicate my life to serving others."

Fourth symptom--Depression. "Life is meaningless without my appendix."

Final symptom--Acceptance. "My appendix is gone. I am moving forward."

After we've had our meetings, I'm going to ask Dr. Stein about this minor-organ brouhaha. I have an appointment with him at USC/Norris September 12th. While I'm at it, I'll ask him about KY jelly too.

Dear D,

You are right, it's something I've seen for years and years: people's experiences and treatment options presented are not created equal and when things conflict there is usually truth to both sides.

Did not happen guys...
Your doctor was NOT my doctor,
My Cancer may be Cancer...the same name as yours,
but that's where it ends in similarity...

One thing...
and I do not mean to sound rude...but,
we must all try to understand here at this site...seems to me... ;)

Each of us,
regardless if we have the very same procedure preformed,
need to realize, that we are still different individuals.

We are built different, not just with our sex type,
but our physical make-up. Too, our doctors have experienced
different "problems" and "successes" with previous patients
and after surgery complications...

There has to be a myriad set of situations at every 'fork in the road',
which each doctor/patient must cope with.

Offering suggestions to others is good therapy for both sides.

That said,
I have seen several posts here across the site where statements are made
"as pure gospel"...
that do not come close what another web site maintains as FACT.

KY Jelly is one such post that's being discussed right now...
Search the web on your own,
you will find it reccomended by some, cursed by others...

As with most of lifes obligations and confusions...
Usually...
BOTH sides are right to some degree.

Do not mean to preach... ::)
just seems we need to give a little more thought prior to telling others
here that "We KNOW OUR opinion" is the right one... "for everybody".
