Thanks, Pat. I'll be happy to see that one go.

I think the removal of the tubes may vary as bags seem to vary with the surgeon....when they removed the abdominal drain they just pulled it out and put a dressing over it. Pat

About the scrotum, see my answer to your other post. About the tube, he has two right now, one from the bottom of his new "pouch" in his abdomon, and one at the top. We flush saline into the top tube, and remove it from the bottom, to flush out the excess mucus.

Three weeks after the surgery, as I understand, they will take out both tubes, and he will begin to catheterize the top "stoma." What happens with the bottom, I have no idea ??? Maybe someone else can answer for us.

How have you been sleeping?

Stephany, you did a great job reporting your husband's progress. It has been very helpful to us, since we are right behind you.
What did the doctors say about the swelling of scrotum? After the tube is removed, where does the drainage go?

He got out on Monday afternoon. We came straight home, and had pasta for supper. And now lots of fruit and veggies, and home made food. I told him not to eat anything with more than "one ingredient."

The pasta was a little bit of a stretch in that regard.

Now we're flushing and draining.
