Hi Sarah,

Don't panic, but the first two years post-op are the most important, and have the closest follow up, just in case. It sounds standard to me...

The chance is very big you are fine, it's just a precaution to make sure everything is ok in there. Neobladders spare the urethra, and that is one of the reasons for having a cysto - to look at it and be sure all is well.

Hi everyone

Would appreciate a bit of advice. I am almost a year post-op RC and neobladded and am scheduled to have this procedure as part of my 1 year check. Can anyone tell me why? I know they need to look at the urethra, but I have had an IVU and ultrasound on the neobladder and kidneys. What does a look inside tell you, is it likely that you can have mets in the neobladder?
I am getting nervous now......
