My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer in February. In April they removed the bladder, prostate, and part of urethra, and created a neo-bladder from intestinal tissue. It worked well for about a month, then developed scar tissue and stopped working for the most part. So, since May, he has had nephrostomy tubes directly out the back from the kidneys into drainage bags. He has had 6 rounds of chemo since June, and we are looking at surgical repair of the bladder (where the ureters go into it).
If the surgery caused the scar tissue, how is surgery is good repair?
Does anyone have any of this same experience?
