Well,five years after my neobladder, which is working pretty well by the way, my latest ct scan shows no sign of bladder cancer, Unfortunately, it did show a bit of renal cancer. Good thing I was getting those scans, so it was not only caught early, but after the partial nephrectomy, there will be no need for any chemo.
That particular small mass had been followed for all five years as an unchanging cyst. Apparently it decided to go rogue this year. So the scans were really a godsend and I think I just bought another 5 years worth.
I'm going to the University of Chicago Hospital for robotic. R2D2 is doing it and will be assisted by the Chief of Urology. Going in on Thursday and expected to be out on Friday with 6 weeks off from work.
I suppose it depends on how you look at it but to me, it seems like I really dodged a bullet.
