PET scan tomorrow at 11:15 mountain time. This is great news. Thought it was going to take a week or more to get scheduled but the scheduler got me in tomorrow and got my preauthorization done and called me back to confirm. Great people that I am working with! Hoping to know the full extent of what we are dealing with so we can start treating this.

Told my doc that things are taking a long time in "cancer patient" years! They are WAY longer than dog years. One day feels like a month! Only so long I can be on the sideline doing jumping jacks. Time to get in the game!!!

I'm drawing flow charts in my head about what to do. If lymph nodes then x; else y. Right kidney = null (remove)...

Hey Mike... So sorry to hear this but YOU and your doctor have the right idea to be aggressive with treatment.

Now I've got that Jeopardy song stuck in my head! B)

Best wishes... Catherine

Doc called. He walked me through the procedure he did Monday. The kidney was suspicious but he wasn't sure if it was from the telescope that went up first or the wire. So he did some washes and they came back high grade urothelial cancer. Now he is more concerned about the lymph nodes (not in an easy area to biopsy) that showed up on the CT scan before. We thought those were swollen due to the infection I had but that may not be the case now.

So...now we need a PET scan. Hurry up and wait. He was going to call to set that up as soon as he got off the phone with me. He said it typically takes a week to get set up. They have to order to radioactive material...half-life...etc.

I will call tomorrow to try to schedule asap. SO...as I already "knew" it is back. I still don't know how bad and where for sure. I reiterated to my doc that I want to be extremely aggressive with treatment and he agrees. We just need to know what we're dealing with so we can start.

I will keep you all up to date.

Mike
