Hi Tammy, Not the news you wanted as to the cause of your husband*s back pain, but hopefully the tube will help things temporarily, and now they have brought his operation date forward, at least the waiting time for that is not as long for you both of you.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know it was not what you were expecting and has thrown yet another difficulty at you both. I will keep you in my thoughts and I do hope the tube insertion will relieve his pain while waiting for his surgery.

Best wishes... Catherine

Here is an update from hubby's CT scan on Tuesday. The chemo didn't work so the tumor grew and is now blocking the right kidney so he has to have a tube inserted to relieve the kidney otherwise he could lose the kidney. Chemo is cancelled and his surgery is scheduled for Nov 14 to remove the bladder. He was supposed to have a MRI but he couldn't finish the MRI as he got sick. We think the pain is from his kidney, but just speculation. Now it bothers me that they did wait so long to check on this as what if we would have waited until after his last chemo, which was this week, but he could have had major problems with the kidney. I don't know what to really think and I know that hubby is not wanting to do the tube in his back but I told him he doesn't have a choice.

I am happy to hear they are doing the MRI on your hubby's back tomorrow. Hope all the tests go well and that they can see what is causing him to be in such pain. Best wishes for a good day!

Best wishes... Catherine

Hubby had 1st treatment of Round 3 on Thursday and has his last one this coming Thursday. Due to the continued and worsening back pain he is going in for a MRI tomorrow (Oct 16th). We also have our first CT scan since his TURBT and treatment tomorrow. Hoping for a good outcome.

Back pain because of a bladder tumor? Ask the doctor to explain his logic? It is very likely completely unrelated.
