My husband is currently getting his chemo treatments at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics and I am thinking of getting a second opinion. I don't know if this is something I should do or if they would be upset by this. Our urologist is Dr. Michael O'Donnell and he recommended that we do treatments in Iowa City, but I just don't feel happy with their service right now. My husband is on a two week treatment off one week plan and his last chemo was rescheduled because his counts were too low. The doctor stated he wanted to keep him on his plan and that he wouldn't have his next chemo until 9/13, so does that mean we are in round two of treatment and do we make up that treatment. I'm so confused and feel like we are alone and nobody is explaining anything to us. I feel that they could do a better job. I would appreciate your thoughts! I'm thinking of getting a second opinion either at Mayo or the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.
