Yep! That screamin' idiot seems to come back again to play havoc prior to periodic check ups as well.

I'm also telling you from experience that it is WAY SCARIER on your side of the surgery than it is on our side. For you, it is the unknown. For us, it is known.

I certainly wouldn't want to have one of these done as a vacation but there would be no question if I went back in time and had to face the decision about surgery again. Not a millisecond of second thought!

Good luck!

Jack,

George is right! I AM the "ORIGINAL TOUGH GUY"!!!

And even I have that little guy in my head at times. Just don't tell anyone else. They will think I'm not so tough as I know I am.

Jack.

You are going to be fine. Good Surgeon. Good Hospital. Good Support from family and friends. Good attitude.

We ALL have that little guy inside. Even the strongest here, have that guy! He has his moments! Sometimes you Can listen to him.

I am supposed to make you laugh. That is my only job here. I don't know all the technical terms of the right procedures in medicalese. But I know that a good attitude and surrounding yourself with a network of good people will pull you through. Don't shut them out! They WANT to help!

There are no Boundries here. Ask ANYTHING at all. Nothing is out of bounds. This is kind of like "potty talk" as a kid. Except, It matters now.

I found that life has changed since cancer and a lot of it is actually better, if you can believe it. I've learned that life is precious and work is not so much. I never would have been able to read this site before, or visit a friend with cancer. Now I have so much less fear of the unknown. I know that communication and face to face contact is so important. I can't imagine much consolation by text message or email or twitter or even skype or telephone.

And here I am........ texting you ..... trying to make you feel better..... hope I helped some.

George

You made me laugh. But you are so correct. It is all about mind over matter. And no matter what, I intend to live.

Thanks. I try everyday to keep a positive attitude. I go to work everyday and try to keep up a normal lifestyle. Now, if only I could get rid of that little guy inside of me that is running around in circles, hands in the air and screaming.... I'd be fine. Most of the time I keep him contained, sometimes he get out... Oh well, we all have our trials.
