Thanks Mike... You were right on the money.

I got a quick response back from my surgeon/uro and he said unless it becomes symptomatic, no action required. And if it does become an issue in the future, one of his partners is a general surgeon who can repair it for me.

He also said to exercise as I see fit. No precautions given but I will moderate any lower ab workouts.

Best wishes... Catherine

I had hernias repaired a couple of times. First time I had 3 (I think) and the second time they quit counting at 5). In terms of repair or not to repair, your doc should be able to give some guidance on that. There is a risk of it causing a problem but the question is how much risk of how much of a problem.

Use a general surgeon for this type of surgery.

Thanks everyone. My CT report was posted yesterday and seems I have a hernia now. Otherwise, all is normal.

I know Mike has talked about having had this as well. Did they repair yours, Mike?

From the report: "Ventral hernia containing fat is seen in the anterior wall of the pelvis. Also, small umbilical hernia containing fat is present."

I've had a small bulge at the bottom/right side of my incision since the surgery. The doctor was not concerned by it at all and I don't know if that is where the CT scan is showing a hernia.

I'm going to email my doctor's office today for their take on it. It was not mentioned in the last scan report last November so I don't know if I've done it by heavy lifting or it's been there all along. But, a minor bump in the road so no worries.

Best wishes... Catherine
