Melodie,

Thanks for the posting the update. Glad things went well. When I first saw the title of the post, I thought "Oh good, I was wondering what ever happened with that."

Glad the it worked well. I remember when you were first posting about the "debris" (I believe that's what you called it then).
That is certainly something I think others in the future will find helpful.

And yes, it is a good thing they reduced the size a bit. Mine (it is a neo though) got stretched to over a 1000 cc but I think it may have actually shrunk back a bit because I try not to let it get that full anymore. Getting too big can cause that floppy bladder thing which can make it difficult to ever get it empty.

Again, glad you are doing well and thanks for the update!

Yes, I thought 1000 was a bit much but it was that way almost right from the beginning so makes me think they maybe had it too large to start. Since I had the fistula, it turns out it was a good thing I had that large a pouch because when they go into repair the hole, I've been told they actually cut a section out that surrounds the hole. So even with the extra gone, I can still hold 650-700 which is good as I wouldn't want to hold less considering how many liquids I take in.

My posting was to let others know how I was doing, and to share info. if others happen to end up with a fistula...when I got mine, there was little information to help me feel comfy about the idea of it.

My life is so hectic that I only get here to the forum maybe once a week now. I just wanted to update those of you who know me as to how I am doing following my fistula repair last year. It has been six months now and things are much improved. I think the docs who did the initial Indy Pouch for me and who went back in for the repair, did a good job. I have had no more issues with food debris passing through to the pouch and cathing has gone back to normal. My volumn is down, however. I guess we could say they did a nip & tuck and now the pouch is smaller. Unforunately, I don't appear any thinner. :( Previously I would sometimes empty up to 900-1000 ccs, and now my high is 650 to 700.

So just wanted to share in case anyone ends up with fistual issues...things can turn out OK. :)
