I guess he did a frozen biopsy on the suspicious nodes on the table. If he said satisfactory my guess is they were just swollen fighting off the cancer. But you need to await pathology on all of the nodes to determine whether chemo or not.
I have been reading a lot about Lymph nodes and how serious it is if they have cancer cells. When my husband was diagnosed with Invasive bladde cancer a month ago the ultra scan showed 2 slightly swollen lymph nodes, the doctor removed these as well as surrounding lymph nodes.
He had something called a speed biopsy on the operating table (the results were satisfactory) and we are now awaiting a biopsy to show what treatment he will be following post op.
I never got round to asking the doctor what the swollen lymph nodes meant, (actually I didn't ask as I was afraid of the answer I would get and to be honest I just couldn't deal with any more bad news).
Can anyone help me on this?
