Cathereine--

That's wonderful news, and I'll bet your Thanksgiving will be that much happier! In terms of schedules for check-ups, the usual cystoscopy protocol is every 3 months for two years; if all continues to look good, then it's every 6 months for 3 years, then yearly after that. If you're just on your 3rd 3-month cysto, you aren't yet to the one year mark. I guess 4 months to the next is OK, but I'd be hesitant to go to the 6-month schedule after just a little over a year. Maybe you could ask your uro next time why he thinks you could go to 6 months.

I got home a little while ago from Vanderbilt where I had my 3rd 3-month cysto. I am very happy to report that all looked good, and my doctor took a preliminary look at the CT scan done just prior to my appointment and said he didn't see anything of concern there either. Hopefully the radiologist will come to the same conclusion after detailed evaluation.

Getting that news was definitely worth the 300-mile drive to Nashville. He said I could get my cystos done here in Bristol now, but I'm not ready to give up the security I feel going back to the doctor who actually performed my surgery. Maybe after a couple more good reports, I may consider that since the uro here has a good reputation. Will see how things go.

He moved my next check-up to four months, and if that still looks OK, maybe every six months after that. Needless to say, I am extremely happy to be able to set aside BC worries for a few months. It definitely gives me a new perspective on Thanksgiving and things I am grateful for this year.

Blessings to all...

Best wishes... Catherine
