Actually there were 2 questions addressed..one of a cystoscopy and one regarding an oncologist who didn't believe in Bl2 deficiency.

Uhhh, I think the original question got missed. It was about running a cystoscopy 3 yrs after a neo.

Personally, I would have to guess they would do it to check scar tissue formation. Actually sounds like a good idea to check. I had it done much earlier but I was having flow issues at the time. Hasn't been mentioned since and I am 28 months out now.

Yeah thats what they say...initially it was you have a 5 yr supply in your liver.....but it doesn't really seem to be the case with everyone...especially females. We run out faster somehow. My uro started checking within 6 months of cystectomy.
Now mind you my counts were in the 800's before cystectomy.

My urologist from UCC believes in it. Since I have to get blood test every year for lipid panel, I just tell my regular doc to do the B12. My uro said he usually starts checking at 2-3 years and then every year thereafter.

Hi Mike,
Whats with these oncologists who don't believe in B12 deficiency?? I have one also. Give him this..its from Hopkins
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8426395
I actually ran as low as 240 within 9 months of my cystectomy.
I think your local uro might just be curious??? I'd throw it by my original surgeon at Hopkins especially if everything is running smoothly.

Forgot to mention that I had a neobladder operation at hopkins 2.5 years ago. The Urologist is my local dr. not the one who did the surgery.
