Glad you're home jeff. I didn't have the suprapubic tube. Just the catheter which was hassle enough! Mine came out a bit late as I had an infection and felt too rough to go to hospital. I can only echo the above about this passing. It really will.

Hi Sam,
Glad to hear both came out.
I gave up on the two way flushing of the 2nd tube.
I drink about 60 0z just water a day not counting others.
it cut the mucus to hardly anything when I flush the first tube.
The leak in the 2nd tube has finally stopped on it's own.
Thank you,
Jeff

Hi,
Yes, both tubes came out 3 weeks after surgery. My husband was flushing the tubes with saline every 4 hours until they came out. That keeps things from getting clogged. I hope things are going smoother.

Hi Sam,

Did he get the super public removed at the same time they took the catheter out?
They asked me about having one or two bags I took one.

I fell right on a pile of rocks dead center of my gut after having a Turp done in Nov. They had a hard time stopping the bleeding spent 10 day on off in hospitial.
As I found out blood clots in bladder produces more bleeding.
So maybe that’s why they put the extra tube in for flushing.I did searches and this SP isn't the norm for what I had.
I pissed outside the catheter found I had a lot of mucus by flushing the catheter it fixed that problem.
I flushed once in the morning and then before going to bed
Think twice before noon maybe my answer.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi,Jeff

My husband came home with a similiar tube and catherer but they each had their own bag. The super pubic leaked the most. We kept going back to the hospital to get it changed by the stoma nurse. Also my husband's tubes were rigid enough they did not compress when suctioned. Maybe they can use different tubes. Don't hesitate to call back to the hospital for help. The period you are going through is difficult enough without asking for all the assistance you need.

Good luck - this too will pass even though it doesn't feel like it.

Had RC on Jan.9, 2007.
Neobladder
I came home with an extra tube. Super pubic they call it. It’s coming out of skin right side 6" from belly button.
It drains in the same bag as the catheter.
I leak at the insertion when sitting or laying on my side not all the time but most. Has anyone come home with this tube?
Will it stop leaking within the next two weeks?
Then they will remove the tubes. Also
Having a hard time flushing, water will go in each tube into the bladder very easy. It’s trying to get it back out the tubes collapse from the suction?
