We saw the internist who decided on an extra 1000 units a day. His thinking was that with the 400 plus 400 he was alresdy getting it would bring him to almost 2,000 units. He then plans to recheck him in a couple of months. He did not want to give him too much. We will suggest he do the B12 check at that time.
thanks for your help.

Ok, Pat, I went out, bought the D-3 and dumped my other plain D. Actually I was taking the Vitamin D because my GP said to do it after a level check by blood test. I just substituted the D-3

Sam..since it has been 3 yrs you should have his Bl2 checked. I ran out of it in 9 months. Here's the discussion we had some time ago on B l2. The doc's just forget to tell you about it!!

Once again I knew I could count on you Patricia. His RC was 3 years ago. (knock on wood to be at this point!) This showed up at the recent check with the oncologist. His assistant called with the info and said to check with the internist. We have an appt today with several assorted questions. If I learn anything I will post it. I was remembering it was a B vitamin I thought I would double check. Thanks again for your help.

D3 is what we normally absorb from sunlight....here's a paper on everything you probably did not want to know about Vitamin D..

And i would add that there has been a lot of hype on this supplement lately and before you decide to go ahead and take high dosages please have your level checked. You can get some pretty crummy side effects if you ingest too much. If you take a multi every day you're probably getting 400IU's in that.
