;) Bella, to be honest it is no picnic going through the RC, but after of few months of recovery you will experience a better life and hopefully cancer free.

Good luck to you

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and newly diagnosed. It's not easy to hear you're going to be "gutted like a pig" but would never have considered a wait and see attitude.I'm a 57 year old woman with T2,G3. Will be starting 3 cycles of chemo next week followed by an RC. I already have Dr. and facility lined up.We're trying for a neo but may come out with a pouch due to original tumor site near the urethra.

I've been reading this forum since I found it and feel more educated by all of you than by my doctors. Practical advice from the patient's perspective is so helpful. Being armed with information and knowing what to expect relieves some of my anxiety. When I first got diagnosed I knew nothing about BC and this site has helped answer so many of my questions.

Thanks to all of you posting your experiences, I take heart that there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. It's good to hear positive feedback about neos, pouches and RC's in general.

I've never had any surgery-not even tonsils- so have alot of anxiety about it and the recovery... you all seem to intimate it's pretty grim. Right now I'm just taking one step at a time...chemo first, then surgery, then recovery. Then according to all of you...a pretty normal life. So thanks to everyone for the boost in knowledge and outlook. It makes me a little less scared. I'm sure this won't be my last posting...seems like my questions keep having babies :)

Bella
