Here's an abstract from an article comparing the two. I think GC is offered more now because of the lower toxicity.

My husband opted for MVAC because he was young and healthy and wanted all the toxicity he could get! His remaining side effect 3 years on is some neuropathy (occasional tingling in toes)

Can anyone advise on neoadjuvant chemo for muscle invasive bladder cancer? Has anyone had experience with either one, and did your doctor explain why one was chosen over the other?

My father is starting Cisplatin/Gemzar but I've now heard that MVAC is another and I'm wondering what the differnce might be.

What was your experience with Cisplatin/Gemzar? Is there anything to watch out for or anything you did that helped with side effects? I want to be able to help in any way that I can.
