Thanks George..I was happy to see you respond! I knew u'd have some 'good' attitude for me. Thursday I do a Ct Scan for my chest..friday I meet with the Medical Oncologist to discuss my chemo 'stuff'. I was supposed to start chemo and radiation on monday but have decided to fly out of Toronto to PEI on friday afternoon and managed to bribe my radiation oncologist with some PEI Lobster so he'd reschedule the beginning of my treatments this tuesday vs monday. He laughed than said..why not. My sweetheart and I get to see my 11 brothers and sisters on PEI for 3 days now before all the 'session' fun starts. They are planning a nice big family and friend party for us saturday nite.

Thank you again George for your beliefs and the expression of them. Negativity is a disease..I don't need a new disease!
What the mind of man can concieve and believe..the mind of man can achieve ..through having a positive mental attitude!!

Don't go changin' George..

Hello Ed,
Very sorry to hear about your latest diagnoses. Wish only the best for you. If it is any comfort to you, I have a good friend
that survived throat cancer a few years ago and is now doing
fine. I do know that it is not a easy battle. But with your attitude you're on the right track.
I am about a month behind you on the RC surgery so i know there
is no way you could be ready for this kind of news, i know i would not be. I do know how hard it is to wrap your head around a diagnoses like this, cause i myself have had three major cancers, and it is never easy to start with to come to
terms with it.
I have never used the term "beat cancer" and never will, but
i do want you to know that it is possible to survive multiple
cancers! And just want to wish you the best in your upcoming
battle.

Sled Ed wrote:If it's not bladder cancer, what is it? Did they biopsy it? Once you have a pathology report you can better know what to research. If they didn't biopsy it, someone has to explain to you what it is and how they know that.

Hello Ed. I saw your battle had continued when I was reading Leigh's post. I see from your post that you have retained your good attitude in the face of adversity. I am sure you will fight this as heartily as you fought before.

I had chills as I read your post. My fear has been "what happens next?" I know there is always the possibility of a new cancer coming and I hope to be an open support vehicle for you.
Please keep us abreast of your progress and recovery.

ED
Please keep that aggressive attitude going and make sure you are your own advocate. Make sure the Dr. know they are dealing with a valuable asset and they need to bring their best professional attitude toward your recovery. If they don't, they will have hell to pay with us.

I was so sorry to hear of your new cancer diagnosis, but please lean on us for all the support you need.

Sincerely
George

Hello Forum..
It has been 5 months april 19 since my radical cystectomy. I'd just finally been using a term I read here...'getting used to the new me'. As a matter of fact I've been darn well happy and very positive about my life and surgery results since my RC.
Wow..I sure wasn't ready to have to go to battle again so quickly!
It started a couple of months ago with a lump on the right side of my neck just below my ear but as it turns out, it started at the base of my tongue and has spread to lymphnodes in my neck. I'm very new to this turn of events so certainly don't have all the answers yet. I will be starting a 33 session of radical radiation over a 6 1/2 week period beginning on May 3. The grade is t2-n2. If I am correct I believe the radiation strength or intensity will be over 100 if that makes sense using 7 beams at same time..really have not got that clear yet. I'll be meeting the medical oncologist early this week to discuss what I believe will be 3 sessions of chemo in the period being treated with radiation...at the beginning, in the middle and some time near the completion of my radiation sessions.
I would sure like to know more of what I could be in for. My Radiation Oncologist has indicated that this primary cancer is not related to my bladder cancer. This one is a bit hard for me to completely get my head around..hmm
Looking for some insight..this is all happening quite quickly. My results have all just come in last week..Ct Scan,MRI,Blood work, chest xray, CT chest yet to come.
I have to admit..for a pretty upbeat positive type of guy..this one has my attention. What gives me comfort in this realm of uncertainty is that many have preceded me..and won the battle...this too is my absolute intent!

Thanks for reading this update
Wishing you all the best

Sled Ed
