I'd like to ditto Humpy!! Crap just happens..tighten up that screw on your head and don't you dare give up. Character is built during times of adversity. Sounds like you are building a pile of it. I KNOW THAT SUPPORT DOES COUNT!!! Now you have mine as well. Hate to say it but..but I often cast my eyes on someone whose struggle is yet greater than my own to help me get through. My eyes are on you..and perhaps a bit of comfort may come to you as you cast your eyes on someone else whose struggle or challange may be greater yet than yours...
I am wishing you a continued recovery and peace in your spirit!

Rick! Holy @#%&@*!

Reading your post was frightening as hell. I am sorry for your terrible troubles. I don't know what to say, but damn!
Did they sit down and give you any reasons for the dreadful situation that this experience put you in? My heart goes out to you in every way.
Please keep up your posts so we can keep track of you. We want to help in any way we can. Right Now You are Alive!.... the rest of the stuff we can get taken care of as time goes on.

Sincerely
George

Anyone who wants to know just how wrong things can go with the surgery (Studer/indoor plumbing) can ask me. 1st surgery March 17. 4 1/2 emergency surgery March 20. Woke up in a full on psychotic break which lasted almost 2 weeks. Fever didn't break for more than 3 weeks. In hospital for 4 1/2 weeks and now finally home not because I was "ready" but because I simply couldn't take another day in hospital. Spent all but the last few days "living" moment to moment with no real belief that I would ever get better or get out of the hospital. Living on anti nausea drugs (6 doses for $100) and pain pills. Still have catheter and drain because bladder still not completely healed. Lost so much bowel that I may never get of meds for that. Also came out a diabetic who needs insulin shots daily. Lost close to 30 lbs and weak as a kitten. Not one chance in hell they were able to do the "nerve sparing" surgery so chance of intimacy is slim to none for life. And then there is the bad part..... Don't ask if you don't want to know! If I had to do it again I would either live out my life with the cancer (followed by a bullet to the brain) or ask what is the operation with the least amount of possible complications rather than let me ego drive me to take the surgery that left me in the most "natural" state. This of course assumes that none of the post operative complications don't kick in and rob me of this as well. Hox
