I slept on my recliner using disposable pads on that until I started getting some control. I would let him work it out on the recliner for a while before going back into bed. I spent the day either on the couch or in bed. Frankly I thought the worst time was right after they removed the cath.

Jim, that weight thing is really sneaky. I had lost enough to almost be down to the weight on my drivers license. I put that back and a whole bunch more. That managed to bring up my blood pressure alot and am now working on losing that.

Just realized today is the second. (I moved this weekend and the old synapses are not firing fast right now)

You are in my thoughts and prayers and may all go well.

Hox - I am glad you have done your homework and are happy with your doctor. It must be a relief to you to know that you are in good hands. Pat's intentions were not to scare you or Mary. She is asking because she cares as we all do.

Radical Cystectomy is one of the top 4 invasive surgeries I was told that at UCLA. It affects the intestinal as well as the urinary system. You want the best.

I realize that surgery is just 3 days away, but for peace of mind you might want to ask just how many Radical Cystectomys your doctor has done. A good doctor is proud of his track record and knows how comforting it will be to you to have your questions answered.

Wishing you both a successful surgery and please remember to walk, walk, walk and chew that gum.

P.S. I was in the hospital for 12 days due to complications and lost 28 lbs. Unfortunately they came back. sneaky little buggers. Do to some complications I was out of commission for a couple of months.

I don't disagree with the seed just why plant it 3 days before surgery when any negative vibe can reduce the chance of success... when deciding to investigate a new surgeon at this late date can be fatal... I just think that one should plant the seed when there is time for it to produce not when it may only not grow but may even do more harm then good... just my opinion and we are entitled to disagree without being disrespectful... I would expect no less of anyone who chose to comment on my actions... I am due for surgery on the 17th of March. I would like everyone to know I have done my homework and would prefer not to have any questions raised about my chances for success from this point forward. Thanks for listening Hox
